As the President’s 2010 Budget heads to the House of Representatives for a final vote this week, The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) is pleased to support and encourage passage of  the Veterans Affairs Budget put forth by Chairman John Spratt and the House Budget Committee.  Chairman Spratt’s leadership and dedication to doing the right thing for America’s Heroes is gratefully appreciated, especially during these difficult economic times.

Bank of America helped a New York-based firm operate a massive Ponzi scheme that bilked about 1,500 investors out of $380 million, a lawsuit filed last week claims. According to the class-action lawsuit, Bank of America provided financial services within the firm run by Nicholas Cosmo and had intimate knowledge of the scheme. The suit seeks $400 million in damages against Bank of America and other defendants.  Leslie Wayne, The New York Times  03/27/2009
