Zulma P. Lopez was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico (PR). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico. While in law school, she was a member of Law School Student Committee for the Amendment of the PR Condominium Law, which became law in April 2003, and actively involved in the Clinic on Environmental Law where she assisted attorneys in lawsuits involving environmental issues important to the public. Zulma was admitted to the Bar of Puerto Rico in 2004 and received her Real Estate broker license in 2005. She successfully represented Clients in a variety of Real Estate and Environmental Law issues in her position as Legal Associate with the offices of Juan R. Zalduondo Viera, a large commercial and residential real estate developer with offices in San Juan and Fajardo, PR.

Zulma passed the Georgia Bar exam in May of 2008 and completed final requirements for admittance to practice law in Georgia in August 2008. She will continue her practice for the Firm in the area of general business litigation. She is an active member of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Contractors Association of Georgia, the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association where she serves as Secretary, and the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials. In addition, Zulma serves on the Citizens Advisory Committee to the DeKalb County School Board, and was one of 40 lawyers accepted to participate in the Young Lawyer Division Leadership Academy Class of 2009 for the State Bar of Georgia.

Zulma takes great pride in both her Hispanic and American heritages. She honors the freedoms and economic mobility found in the United States, and takes her responsibility for community involvement and education very seriously. Zulma and her husband Dax are proud patrons of the arts and parents of two sons, Roberto Carlos and Sebastián Andrés.
